Agility Instructor

Shannon began her agility journey in 2004 when one of her friends asked her if she wanted to take an agility class with her and her dog. She thought sure why not this could be fun. At the time she had no idea she was about to be bit by the agility bug. Shannon started her agility career with her Dalmatian Murphy. They had no idea what they were doing but they sure had fun.

 

After 2 years of taking classes with Hi-Flyers Agility Training she became an agility instructor in 2006 and has been instructing ever since. Shannon has been an agility instructor for Dumbledogs since they opened.

 

She takes great pleasure in watching her students (human and dog), grow and become one as a team, as well as designing training sequences and courses. Shannon currently competes with her Australian Shepherd Coping (9yrs) and her Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie cross Skill-It (3yrs).

Uproar's Cuprous Coping Saw aka Coping: 9 yrs, Australian Shepherd. Coping is the dog I can take anywhere and do anything with. He only has eyes for me and me for him. We have a very special bond that I have not had with any other dog. In 2022 Coping was the Regional Champion of the 16" Veteran Class. In 2025 Coping and I earned our Agility Lifetime Achievement Award (100 Standard Qs and 125 Games Qs). These are huge accomplishment that I have never received with any other dog. When Coping and I are not doing something dog sport related we can be found biking out on the trails.

 

Agility. Flyball. Dock Diving. Disc. Rally Obedience. Tricks. Herding. Kick Sledding. Hiking. Biking. Swimming. Canoeing and Camping.

 

Treble: 6 yrs, Australian Cattle Dog. I will always have a cattle dog in my life, I love their balls to the wall attitude and drive. Although I adopted Treble with the purpose of doing dog sports, she unfortunately only has eyes for my partner.  Treble will humour me by playing agility with me to some extend, as well as dock diving, she LOVES dock diving! So, now Treble gets to spend the majority of her time doing fun things with her dad, like biking on the trails.

Skill-It: 3 yrs, Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie Cross. I have always wanted an ACD/BC cross and when I heard there was a litter via a rescue, I jumped at the chance to get one. Skill-It is everything I could ask for in an agility partner, he has drive and focus and really loves to play this silly game with me. Skill-It is only 1 Q away from his ATChC at the age of 3 years old. Although the Qs are not what is important it is nice to see our hard work paying off as we successfully compete together. When Skill-It and I are not playing agility we can be found hiking out on the trails.
